Celiacs/coeliacs/gluten intolerant: Definitely, it’s naturally gluten-free, so no need for special substitutes.
Kid-friendly: This is kid-friendly if they like a little bit of spice!
Tip!
This tagine is perfect served on it’s own with basmati or long grain rice. If you do fancy adding some toppings then a few cashew nuts add a wonderful crunch or sliced avocado for colour and creaminess.
Vegan Tagine
This is a dinner recipe full of flavour, so filling and easy. It's vegan and gluten free so a real crowd pleaser. Give it a try on a busy weeknight, you'll love it!

Ingredients
- 1 medium white onion, chopped
- 1 cup of sweetcorn
- 1/2 medium butternut squash or one small, chopped
- 1/2 can of soaked chickpeas
- 1/4 cup red wine (can be left out for babies and young children if preffered)
- 1 carton organic diced tomatoes (400g)
- 1 tablespoon tomato purée
- 1 tablespoon of maple syrup or brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Ras El Hanout
- 1/2 cup of water
- Salt and pepper (can be left out for babies and young children)
Directions
- Step 1 Simply place all of the ingredients into the soup maker and set to chunky.
- Step 2 When cooked, use the blend setting for a second or two to thicken the sauce.
- Step 3 Your piping hot Vegan Tagine will be ready in about 25 minutes. Easy!
- Step 4 There’s usually a ‘keep warm’ setting so feel free to it make early in the day and let those flavours develop.
- Step 5 Serve with basmati rice.
